Mike
was born in Hull, Yorkshire on 9th
August 1940. He was twenty when he joined the Army as a direct entrant to
the Parachute Regiment, in which he served for six years.
His unit was
2nd Parachute Battalion with whom he served in Aden and he saw active
service with them in Borneo in 1965.
