Peter Clark

 Peter was born in Wigton, Cumberland on 8th November 1947. He joined the British Army at age sixteen at the Army Apprentice School, Arborfield. His Army career was in armoured forces and his first unit was 15/19 King's Royal Hussars, with whom he served in Munster, Germany from 1965 to 1968.

He then returned to England and joined the Parachute Squadron RAC, part of the 16th Independent Parachute Brigade.

Later he returned to conventional armour, rejoining the King's Royal Hussars and serving again in Germany at Fallingbostal.

He served with NATO Forces while in Germany and also had a period in Northern Ireland whilst with the Parachute Brigade.

Peter then came to Australia and joined the Australian Army. He served with 2 Cavalry Regiment, Royal Australian Armoured Corps, in a variety of training/instructor posts till his retirement in 1997 with the rank of RSM.

Whilst serving in the Australian Army he continued parachuting at Williamstown and Nowra Parachute Training Schools and with the Second Battalion Royal Australian Regiment.

In the early 1990's he initiated the procedure which led to British Airborne Forces presenting Wings to graduating parachutists at Nowra Training School.
